With refer. to the annexed extt. letter from the officer commdg. 21st N.I. expresses the commander in chief recommendatin that silk sashes similar in pattern to the one herewith forwarded may be adopted in the regular army, in liew of those hithorto supplied & that instructions may be given to the clothing Bd. to issue them to such corsp, as by the REgt. are entilled to recd. sashes.
