With refec.to the Meteorological Instruments required for the Calcutta observatory not having been as yet received from England and to much inconveince having been experineced in the observating been experineced in teh Obsertory from teh Want of 1 Maximum and one minimum thermometers adn 1 standard Dr. requests sanction to his purchasing them at Messrs. scott thomson and co. where they are at present procurabel for 72nd rs. and states that they are not immediately secured the opportunity may be lost to supply the deificnincy in the observatory.
