In reply to a letter of te 30th july states that the govr genl concurs in opinion with the preisdent in council that the hordes of the cavalry regt at madras on their presient establishment should be kept complete in like manner with those of bengal and bombay but the question of keepin 12 horses per troops wanting to complete as ordered in 1837 should be referred by the madras govt for the deceison of the court of directors.
