With reference to alr. of the 28th Ultimo regarding the scale of pay & allowance to be passed to the detachment of Royal arty,serving with the expedition to China, states tht the gover. genl. is of opinion that the question should be immediately referred for the decisions of the home authorities & that in the mean time the several suggestions of the Mily.Audr. Genl. may be adopted, with the Exception of Converting into Indian Currency at the rate of 26th Rs. the pay of the non commissioned officers & Princes. which as well as the good conduct pay his lordships thinks should be issued at the exchange of 2-0-1/2 O.P.Returned.
