In reply to no. 11 of the 3rd ultimo forwards the report of the Mily. Ander. Genl. no. 118 of 29th iden therein called for intimating that although no general rule exists authorizing advance for the equipment of new corsp of irre. cavy. there are precedents on record of such havin been made vide Govt. leters no. 184 & 302 D/5th Jan and 20th May 1842.
