With reference to a letter of the 22nd November last states that he is not aware of any objection to a senior apothecary being allowed lodging money while on duty in the eastern settlements vizt, prince of wales island, mamaeca and Singapore, less a sum equal to his tentage which inchided in his consolidated salary or in other wores the difference between the lodging money and tenage of his rank vizt 49 Rs. per mensem, which apothecary Harris appears to have correctly down that he deos not consider that the restriction pointed out.
