In reply to their Lr. No. 6156 of 18th Instt. Solicit that serjt. Dixie of the sappers & miners may be appointed an asstt. overseer on the Deptt. of public warkes & plased at the disposal of Major baker for empolyment on the canals most of the jummuna permitted.
