With reference to Military Deptt. letters Nubmbers 837 & 62 of the 30th ultimo, and 4th Instant, states, that his own view of the case is that Govt. never received Rs. 471,058:9:3,1/2 from Jotee Pershand, that they never therefore owed him that sum for money said to have been advanced by him to other agents, and that he has no claim on the State for that amount which is now demanded for other reasons than those first given and persevered in for more than a whole year, & offers obvservation.
