In reply to his letter No 10 of the 12th Instant.directed to inform that the right hOnble the Govr Genl in council is pleased to sanctin the promotion of Mr J C Bewitt from the 3rd to the 2 Class of Sub Assistant in the Great trigonometrical survey from the 29th march 1848.
