In continuatino of this ltr. no. 45 of the 27th Oct. 1848, transmtis for information and necessary ordes copy of corresondece with the adjt. genl. of the army, stating that the govre. genl. of opinion tha the expennets which were in progress for testing the comparative value of Elephant drought for singe ordnance.
