With reference to their dispatch no 519 dat 19th June 1848 transmitting extract paras 36 and 37 of a mily letter from the Honable the curt of Drs. no 43 of 30th May 1849 communicating observations regarding the supply of portable furnished by measurs bright for consignment to Madras which on arrival at thus Presidency was condemned by a committee of survey.
