With refec.to an extt. of the 14th Ulitmo intimates that abandoning the Tortress of gwalior Lt. Coll. Sleeman the govr. genls. agent for the affairs of scindiah Dominions was apprized on teh 31st Decr. last that govt. are of aopinion that govt. are opinion that the fort should no conger be retained as a fortification all the guns stores should be taken out of it the walls be allowed to be necessary however to take care that teh walls be not left when dismantled in a state to be the haunt of robbers and ill disposed persons .
