Publishing extract from No. 65 of 17th dec 1834 delaring that officers have no strict right to the appoint of brigt or birgt genl on the geound of mere senitority and that colonels and brigt eligible to division command dught to have the option of suceding to such comands or of retaining amg appointment they may be holding the same rute to appy to major genl in the cos service.
