With refrence to mily Department letter no 108 of the 5th Ultimo, relative to the preporation of ammunition at the central Prison at Agra, state, that they received a similar Communication from the Lt. Govt. N.W.P to which they have refled that, comparing, the expense, of manufactur, on magazine, and in the jail no saving was , effected, and that under say circumstances, theyu did not consider that work of this kind involving resk of explasion by careness and by design should be entrusted to convicts, statements of expense accompanies, O.P returned.
