With reference to a letter of the 29th April 1848, Transmits, with the Commander in Chief's favorable recommendation, copy of one from local Captain W.R. Forster 2nd in Command of the Shekawattee Battalion with a memorial in Duplicate ot the adress of the Governor General in Council praying that the Commission of Captain in the Army of the last Indias, may be conferred upon him.
