With reference to their despatch no. 1555 of the 22nd ultimo, intimating that as theissue of rum to the value of Rs.8.9.5 1/2 to H.M. 24th Foot was confessdly iregulary the P. in C. holds the ex-comitted officer personally respndibilt for the amount unless he can prove thta he acted according to the instructions contained in paras 2 and 3 of G.A.G.g. 30th Sep. 1847.
