With refrence to a letter to Join address from this department no 339 of the 16th april 1851. I have the honor to inform you that as troops are now on their way from England to the Cape of Good Hope, there , in longer a necessity for containing to hold Her majestry 18th Royal Irish regiments in readiness to embark for service beyond se a and Iam instructed to requests that you will take immediate steps for conveying this information to the office commandng the Regiments.
