In reply to your letter No. 335 of the 4th ultimatum, I am directed to transmit to you for submission to the commander in chief the accompanying copy of a letter from the Surgeon Major of Fort William of the 3d instant from the contents which His Excellency will perceive it is assistant surgeon D. H. O'Hanlan's desire having seen the Editor in Calcutta on the morning Chronicle refusal or was in respectfully acquainted with the editorial management of that paper during the year.
