With reference to the minutes received by me on the 4th December last, I have the honor to acquaint you for the information of the Government that I reached Calcutta on my return from the Cape of Good Hope on the 2nd instant and that I propose to remain here at the Board at the meeting of Council on the 9th instant. I request that the necessary instructions may be passed to the Sub Treasurer for the payment of the arrears of salary due to me.
