Certified that Ishtik Singh entered the Cis Sutlej Revenue Survey in August 1840 upon a salary of Rs 20 and that he was receiving a salary of Rupees 35. He is a steady respectable man and one of the oldest Native surveyors. He is a very good hand at laying down a survey from Prismatic Compass and Chain and he can finish and colour rough plans fairly. The undersigned Major Brown survey I believe in the year 1842 and I have pleasure in testifying to his zeal and industry during the time he was under my orders.
