With reference to Letter No 1801 dated 31st May 1855, the Governor General approves Brigadier Cotton to be Brigadier General and Colonel Kniphauser to be Brigadier in succession temporarily to Major General Markham. The Governor General desires information that Brigadier General will remain at Secunderabad.
