In reply to the question submitted in your letter No. 359 dated 9th of this instant, I am directed by the Hon’ble the President in Council to state for the information of the Right Hon’ble the Governor in Council that the Officer Majors for the Bengal Army are not to draw any fee on Commissions, and that the draft was numerously omitted in the G.O.G.G. No. 1233 of the 18th October 1846.
