Affray in Balasore in which five armed Bengalis killed a villager and wounded another and were in turn attacked by the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and other policemen with the result that one was shot dead, two others wounded and two captured uninjured. Issue of warrant under Regulation III of 1818 for the detention of (1) Saileswar Bose and (2) Nimai Chandra Chakrabartti alias Tarapada.
