Letter from Surgeon G. Gard'ner, complaining of supersession by Surgeon-Major Laird, requesting the grant of the allowance to be paid to the servants of the Company who have been deprived of their offices, and enclosing a copy of his last appointment letter. Extract from the minutes of consultation, dated the 7th November, 1772, stating that Surgeon Gard'ner's supersession was without the knowledge of the President, and appointing him next to Dr. Campbell upon the Civil list of Surgeons at the Presidency. Copy of a letter from Mr. J. Stewart, Secretary, to Mr. Gard'ner, Surgeon at Midnapore, informing him of his appointment as Second Surgeon at the Presidency.
