Letter from Major Isaac Eaton tothe Governor-General, stating the causes which he thinks lead to the frequent desertions amongst the Sepoys, proposing the adoption of a plan to put a stop to these desertions by establishing a recruiting station at Buxar, asking to beplaced in command of such a station,should his plan be ever put into execution, and complaining of his having been transferred from the command of the Buxar fort, after he had spent his own money instrengthening its defences.
