Draft of a letter to Lieut .- General Sir Eyre Coote, Commander-in- Chief, requesting him to abolish such of the staff appointments of Col. Pearse's detachment as he may think necessary, consenting to the increase of pay to the noncommissioned officers, private Europe, lascars, etc., and intimating that in future all remittances to him will be sent through the President and Council of Fort St. George.
