Letter from Mr. Claud Alexander, Military Paymaster-General, to Mr. Edward Hay, Acting Secretary stating the information elicited from Hur Churn Dass,at one time Moonshai nd Sircar to Major (then Captain) Showers,on the subject of Major Showers's claim to certain building materials left at Allahabad, when he (MajorShowers) was obliged to abandon some house-building works he was then doing for the Company and rejoin his regiment, and remarking that in his opinion the materials claimed are the Company's property.
