Classification of the term and Worker under the Factories Act, 1948-Position explained the G.M., I.G.F that in accordance with the advice given by the Labour Ministry, the question of application of the term worker under the Act should depend on the fact whether the work done by the staff has a direct relationship with the manufacturing process carried on a in a factory. The more important factor is the work done by each employee rather than the category to which he belongs. If it is established that such staff have no relationship he cannot appropriately be termed Worker The G.M. was advised to examine the case further in consultation with the inspector of factories, if necessary
