The Ministry of Finance decided that railway employees sent on deputation to Railway Employees Co-operative Credit Societies were not entitled to receive Bonus or ex-gratia award declared by such cooperative societies. Eastern Railway inquired as to whether Bonus should be paid to railway employees transferred to E.I. Railway Employees Co-operative Credit Society Ltd., Calcutta under the Bonus Act, 1965, as the payment of Bonus is not included as per the extant orders issued
