Recommendation of the J.A.C.- Decision that- (1) An Allowance of Rs. 2/8/- per day should be paid to guards of Engg. or Ballast Trains on the Northern and Eastern Railways where guards are responsible for supervising the work of loading and unloading of materials. (2) The designations of Ballast Train clerks and Ballast Train Sub. Inspectors wherever they exist should be replaced by the designation of Ballast checkers and the prescribed scale of pay for them should be Rs. 55-85 and the posts should be filled by promotion of suitable literate Cl. IV staff on N.E. Central, Southern and Western Railways where separate Engg. Staff for loading and unloading of materials from Ballast and Engg. Trains exist
