Cabinet Secretary: Proposal regarding voluntary donation of one day's salary every month to the National Defence Fund or purchase of National Defence saving certificates of the same value commencing from the salary drawn by employees for October, 1965 This was circulated to all Railways for taking necessary action. The Ministry of Finance classified that contributions might be made not only to the savings certificates but also the cumulative Time Deposit Accounts as alternative forms of participation of Government employees in the Defence effort. This classificatory under order was also circulated to Railways
