On July 11, 1962, the Board met with the Chairman of the Railway Service Commissions in New Delhi. Points discussed: 1. Time reduction for the dictation test for 16 stenographers. 2. Passes will be issued to candidates summoned for the stenographers' test. 3. To ensure uniformity, qualifying English marks will be reduced to 35%. 4. Submit more realistic monthly progress reports. 5. Increase the tenure of railway staff in commissions from three to five years. 6. Elimination of the grouping method for popular categories, giving candidates the option of applying for any or all categories, as well as any or all Regions / Divisions. 7. Prompt recruitment of operational categories. 8. Reducing the two-week grace period for departmental applicants
