In accordance with Boards office memoranda No. F (E) 49/ALI9/(2) dated 17.11.49 and F (E) 51/ALI9/(2) dated 3.8.51 regarding the subject of road mileage to be granted to railway servants performing journeys by road, Ministry of Finance Decision No. 1 decided that, unless there are compelling circumstances, the controlling office should permit the drawing of higher rates of road mileage if a Railway Servant has valuable records that he must keep with him
