The A.I.R.F. demanded that the N.F. Railway implement a double crew arrangement for goods trains travelling between Alipurduar Jn and New Gauhati. i. In order to improve the amenities offered in the rest vans under the double crew arrangement, Railways requested a programme. ii. Information regarding the comparative total salaries of the staff members operating under the single crew and double crew systems, as well as the topic under examination, was also requested from the Railways for a three-month period from September to December 1963. 2. No additional action was deemed necessary due to the challenges in comparing the total salaries of employees operating on single crew and double crew systems
