The mechanical engg. and transportation (Power) Deptt of the superior Revenue Estab. of the Indian Railways recruitment (8th Amendment) Rules, 1964 decided that a new para as indicated below shall be added an the existing para be renumbered as para 23:- 22. Liability to serve in the Defence service Any person appointed to the Mechanical Engg. and Transportation ( Power) Department of the Superior Revenue Estb. of the Indian Railways on the Result of the Competitive examination held in 1964 onwards shall if so required be liable to serve in any defence services or post connected with the defence of India, for a period of not less than four years including the period of not less then four years including the period spent on training if any provided that such person shall not be required to serve as foresa id after the expiry of ten years from the date of appointment (b) shall not ordinarily be required to serve as aforesaid after attaining the age of forty years
