The Western Railway classifies its non-gazetted railway employees in order to return their rent-free quarters. According to the Board's letter E47CPC/85 dated 1.11.47, only those staff categories designated as Inferior staff and newly classified as free IV staff who were receiving rent-free accommodations should continue to enjoy the privilege until it is decided to withdraw the concession
