1. Rules for the recruitment of Special Class apprentices for appointment to the Railways' mechanical engineering and Transportation (power) Departments during 1951. 2. The Rules establish a minimum age limit of 16 years for admission. 3. Determination that Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, or Mathematics plus at least one of the courses Physics or Chemistry, are required for entry to the Selection of Spl Class apprentices. 4. The decision to terminate the Cambridge School Certificate 'A' and the London Matriculation Certificate as alternative qualifications for the selection of special class Apprentices is being made with three years' notice to all potential candidates. The U.P.S.C. issued a press release citing these certificates as an alternative qualification for entry to the selection of spl class apprentices as a result of the selection to take place after 1956
