Requesting the granting of a special C.L. to Mr. P.V. Shah, who was allowed to assist Mr. Parekh, a former Saurashtra Railway officer who was suspended, Not accepted. Insertion of Note 4 under Rule 1730-RI published in Board's letter dated 25-9-56 stating that the accused railway officer may, if he so chooses, be accompanied by another railway officer in a departmental investigation, provided that the officer so nominated as the defense counsel is approved to act in that capacity and provided also that the person so nominated shall not be a professional lawyer. Additionally, the Board resolved in a letter dated September 25, 1956 that the same privileges, including special passes and special casual accommodations, should be extended to counsel for gazetted officers
