The constitutionality of Section 7 of the Delhi Laws Act, 1912, Section 2 of the Part C States (Laws Act), and the Ajmer-Merwara (Extension of Laws) Act, 1947, have been referred by the President to the Supreme Court of India under Article 143(1) of the Constitution. 2. The first portion of Section 2 of the Part C States (Laws) Act, 1950, Section 2 of the Ajmer-Merwara (Extension of Laws) Act, 1947, and Section 7 of the Delhi Laws Act, 1912 all maintained legal effect. Section 2 of the Part C States (Laws) Act of 1950's second half was declared to be unconstitutional.
