Considering the fact that the nationalhighway was passing across siliguri yard without the three separate level crossings coverings a distance of about 360 ft and that diversion of the highway would result in closings down the three level rossings and construction of o ly one road over bridge, it was decided that hte Railways world bear RS. 15.12.lakhs out of Rs. 24. 42. lakhs beinghthe cost of the diversion including cost of the road ovrebridge,reconstructions of th bridges and culverts on the route.
