General order by the Most Noble the GOvernor General of India in Council, Fort William 27th October 1854, the most Noble the GOvernor General in Council is pleased to cancel the Govt. General order no., 451 of the 17th July 1852, and to direct that from the 1st Proximo or from teh date of receipt of this order, malt liquor issed for the use of European Troops shall be supplied by the Commissariat Deptt. to Regiments at Rupees 47/4 per Hogshead so as to be retailed in Canteens at the fixed reduced price of annas (3) three per quart or One and a Half (1, 1/2) annas per pint whether at a station or marching.
