With reference to mily. dept. no. 959 of the 31st July 1855, submits for favourabel consieeration an aplicatin form Captain Liptrall Comdg. 17th ire. cavy. to be furished with three copes of the carbine exercise for the use of that corpos in liew of the plantoon exercise and different firing for the ordinay or rifle musket.
