With refrence to Mily Department no 821 of the 24th august last, states taht the letter referred to by Mr.F.R fottentan formerly a Lt. in the 7th Regt of light cavy are not in the Regt . office of that corps nor are they in the prefession of major Harrcott Dy Jude advocate General and further that from the Information that has been elicited int he course of the equires that have been instituted for the discovery of these papers it does not appear to the c.in Chief that any advantage could be derived fromt he revival of any discussion of the under standing.
