From - Secretary In reply to letter No. 374 dated 3rd March last with encloses relative to the question of granting compensation to Police sawars for horses carried off by rebels observes that by the present rules compensation is not allowed to the Mr. Cavy for losses of the description noted it is given only for horses killed or disabled in action or by wounds or fatique or extending duties or on field service the same rules are applicable to the Punjab mounted police and it is unexpdiate to extend them same in special cases leys down a rule on the subject.
