Chief Secretary - Forwards correspondence in the Military Department relating to a remark made by Captain MacViccar in his letter to the Government o India under date the 25th December last as to the impropriety of supplying him with Troops discased & Weakened during the late Camparja at Burmah and the Madras Commander in Chief observations thereon. Intimates that it is the Purpose of that Governmetn of address the Supreme Government on the subject of the Employment of regular troops in the duty of escerting the agent & his subordinate officers in their tours thro the healthy regions of the agency.
