To Consulting Engineer - Sanctions the Construction as soon as possible of the Brick Bridge recommended and as therein proposed and draws attention with observation as to the expediency of uniting of possible in this great work a Bridge for the Railway and a bridge for passengers by the ordinary Road. Requests therefore and his opinion upon the suggested arrangement for conveying the local traffic across the Soane by Railway, and also on the practicability & probable expence of so enlarging the Railway Bridge to enable it to carry a common Road also. The Additonal expense involved in providing for the common road being # by the Government of India.
