Note by the Secretary - As Section 5 of the Bill passed by the Legislative Council on the 22nd December /55 entitled a Bill to prevent the sale or exposure of Obscene Books & Pictures declares it unlawful to import such things and enacts that they be forfeited & seized & destroyed by any officer of Customs- Suggests that the Governments be directed to draw the attention of the Customs Authorities in the several Presidencies to the Clause in question.
