To Resident Singapore - With reference to letter of 4th May 1830 to the late Government. States that a reply has been received from the Court of Directors not acceding to the proposition for the transfer of the Penang Civil Servants to Bengal, Madras & Bombay or to any alteration in the amount of retiring Pensions sanctioned in April 1829. To communicate to all the Covenanted Servants holding Office under him the option of retiring on a free pension. A salary of 10,000 Rs. per Annum is assigned to each of the three Assistants. The allowances of the 2 Chaplains to be raised to a par with those of the Chief Medical Officer. The above Salaries to have retrospective effect. The employment of a missionary at 2500 Rs. per Annum approved. The 3 Assistant Surgeons will be transferred tot he bottom of the List of the Bengal Establishment. Transmits Paras 25, 26 & 27th of Courts letter regarding the Government from complying with Revrend Mr. Burns request to be placed on the Bengal List . The
