From Post Master General - Submits statements showing the result of the experiment as regarding the reduced rates of News Paper Postage sanctioned 15th November 1829 - The result is a deficiency of Rs. 31,136.6 for the two years 1829/30 & 1830/31 compared with double the Collections of 1828/29 which is the sum the Proprietors agreed to make good. The Hurkaru Press has given an encreased return whilst the John Bull & Government Gazette have decreased - For reasons stated suggests that Government forego levying the penalty for another year or two. The agreement with the Proprietors expired 15th November last.
