From Board - In reply to letter of 29th Ultimo. Report that under the circumstances of emergency arrangements were made with Mr. Storm for the conveyance to Balasore of 9000 Maunds of Rice. Do not consider that the rate of freight charged by that Gentleman Vizt. 30 Rs. per 100 Maunds unfair, as extraordinary exertions were required for the preparation of the Sloops. Observe that the charge for conveyance of Rice to Kedgeree has been in excess of that dispatched to Balasore.
